About Costa Teguise, Lanzarote, Canary Islands. - While it is perhaps best known as a windsurfing destination, this laid back resort has a lot more to offer the tourist, including beautiful beaches, a great golf course, and a host of shops, bars, and restaurants.

Every year, thousands of windsurfing aficionados visit Costa Teguise to experience its near perfect windsurfing conditions and beautiful scenery. Even if you do not fancy taking to the waves yourself, it is still very enjoyable to watch the surfers from the beach.

Besides windsurfing, there are plenty of other sea based activities on offer in Costa Teguise. For example, you could go scuba diving and explore the world beneath the waves, go sailing, or try your hand at deep sea fishing.

There are three beaches in Costa Teguise. The biggest and best one is Las Cucharas, a soft white sand beach that is immensely popular with sunbathers. The others are the somewhat pebbly El Jabillo, and the small but perfectly formed Los Charchas.

Do not expect Costa Teguise to have a buzzing nightlife, as it is more of a quiet resort for couples and families. There are, however, a few late bars and clubs where you can dance and drink the night away if you fancy a night out.

The main attractions in Costa Teguise, apart from the beach, are the water park and the eighteen hole golf course. In the water park, you can enjoy high speed thrills on their kamikaze and splash rides, cruise down the river in a dinghy, or go swimming in the wave pool.

You could be forgiven for thinking that you are in a traditional Canary Islands village when you are in Costa Teguise, as although it was built fairly recently, great care was taken to give it an authentic look. If you want to see a real Lanzarote village, you can just pop into the neighbouring town of Taro de Tahiche.

Despite having a few discos and late bars, Costa Teguise is not exactly buzzing with nightlife. If you fancy a wild night out, Costa Teguise is just a short bus ride away from the capital of Lanzarote, Arrecife. Here you can find a whole host of nightclubs, bars, and restaurants.
